Great cameras

Like most folks, I get a bit upset when others drive like they left their brains at home. So, I ordered a pair of these from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Dashboard-Rec...dDbGljaz10cnVl

What's nice about these cameras is the camera can be easily removed from the windshield's mounting

The record at 4k so you'll need a memory card that can record at that rate (4k) so I bought two of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ran power from the rear fuse panel to this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q5W1BG3...v_ov_lig_dp_it

and then ran power to the 2 cameras. The connector at ea ch camer is USB-C.

I'll be very interested to see how those work for you. I've been looking at dash cams, and the name brand stuff is way pricier. If it holds up, provides decent night vision, and isn't buggy, this could be a good option.

Not sure I'm keen on the display though. Might be distracting, especially at night.

Too bad it doesn't have a GPS. I'd like to get GPS for better tracking, speed, and hopefully correct time stamping.

Garmin Mini 2, it's tiny and almost forget it's there.

I have the front camera tucked up on the right (passenger side of the interior rear view mirror. I don't notice at night as the screen dims as the ambiant light decreases. The date and time are accurate. It has an internal battery so it retains the settings.

I've owned dozens of dash cams ranging from $50 to $250 and my favorite so far is the Garmin 55. The best feature is the wifi so you can download videos directly to your phone without having to mess with a memory card and PC. It also has GPS and speed displays.

These cameras have wifi. There's an app, TimaCam, that lets you play video from the camera's memory card via the camera's wifi.
