New M240i Performance Edition
So my wife's lease on her 228i is ending later this week and we were in the market for a replacement. She's a gal that only drives stick... Gotta love that right? We had the hardest time finding something that she wanted, even with several local dealers searching for her. So we went on Autotrader this weekend and found a dealer 60 miles away that had a manual 430i order that fell through. While we were on the lot looking at getting a lease, he tells us that he has a new 2018 M240i Performance Edition available...with a manual tranny. The car had been on the lot for so long that we were able to knock off 25% from the list price. Bottom line... We didn't even get into the 430i for a test drive, bought the M240i, drove home with huge grins on our faces and didn't realize that our new baby was only 1 of 75 in the states until later. Call it serendipity.

@Solid67...congrats on your baby.
@cooolone2..Happy wife=Happy life. She loves the car and I love seeing her in it. Now of I can only convince her to put on a tight asian school girl outfit and pose with the car... Tokyo Drift style. Haha. She was into that scene when she was in her teens/early 20s and has aged very well. Her auto ownership history is pretty impressive ranging from Civic SI, GTIs, Minis and BMW 1,2&3 series. I'll definitely post school girl pics if I'm sucessful. |

Does anyone know how many MPE's BMW actually produced over the years?
I remember reading somewhere that BMW planned on 750 units worldwide. 250 for North America with only 65 going to the US in 6spd and RWD only. Couldn't find any reference to how many of these came to Canada. Either way, these are amazing little cars so whoever is lucky enough to own one, enjoy and take good care of them as I suspect these will retain their value better than all other M240is out there in the wild. Cheers, Basil |

What makes an M-Performance edition? What is different from a regular M240i?
