Tranny bump or thud on early gear shifts

2016 F22 M235i Xdrive 8A
18x8 225/40/18 on front
18x9 255/35/18 on rear
57500 miles on car
Stock motor with stage 0+ bm3 tunefile

Car in comfort or sport driving mode
Tranny in sport side with manual shift engaged
When I get on the throttle hard it seems like the 1-2 2-3 3-4 shifts are awkward and delayed. The tranny makes a deep thud low pitch bumping sound when it shifts that it doesn't seem to make when its shifting up in the higher gears. Its not egregious but I would say there is a .25 or .5 second delay that isn't there in the upper gears or at other times.

Im worried to do bolt ons and tune and force another 150 foot pounds of torque through the drive train?

Can you make out the issue on video, and if so can you post one? I would suggest checking the fluid level and scanning the TCU for any pending codes first

Does it do this in automatic shifting mode too? If not it could just be your shift points. If it's doing this in automatic mode the first thing you should do is change your transmission fluid. The 'lifetime fluid' BMW states is BS.

It could also be your transfer case. I had a similar issue where I was getting a pretty bad shudder in the same conditions you described @50k miles. All I did was change the transfer case fluid and it completely solved my issue.

Are there specific rpm I should or should not be shifting at with this motor and tranny?

Had the same setup in the 335m sport and it never seemed to do this.

Thanks

Really don't hear about too many ZF problems so keep us updated and good luck.

And a bad battery is notorious for screwing with automatic transmissions. But this scenario above may be too selective w/auto-manual

I am going to try the transfer case fluid and see if it restores. Car seems very stable over the past couple months of very very spirited driving lol I guess if something was trending towards failure it would have already, but I am no expert on this stuff yet.

Cheers
