M2 exhaust on M235i?

So in my quest for a non overpriced axleback, I discovered that OEM M2 mufflers are relatively inexpensive.
Has anyone looked into this? I've seen a few videos of M235i's with M2 mufflers tacked on but nothing compares to hearing one in person.

And also most importantly, is it worth doing an M2 muffler over an MPE? The MPE typically costs 800-900 if you're lucky, whereas the M2 muffler is 500 dollars and a day at an exhaust shop.

Going to go that route myself this week, as my current catless dp/ muffler delete setup has too much drone but didn't want to put the stock one back on. Haven't heard in person either but from different posts/videos seems like its an improvement in sound over stock m235i part.

Definitely post in here when you do that! Another reference point would be great. Are you going back to stock cats or still catless? I don't intend to do any sort of downpipe for a while on my car due to warranty worries.

so u guys know ive already done it. I have it on now in fact. resonator delete and an m2 muffler. I came from an mpe. this is way better and I found one on the m2 forums for 300 shipped. I converted the quads to duals so I didnt need a new bumper and diffuser and it sounds amazing. I still have my valve too. I will be moving up to dinan soon but thats a $1400 investment I'm not quite ready for lol

Do you have any videos or sound clips of it? Res delete and M2 muffler were exactly what I intended to do if someone said it was worth it over an MPE.

I'm getting my car wrapped the next few days. I'll try to get a video clip or something. I don't know how good it will sound with my phone but ears to ur car ur gonna love it. it cracks and burbles just a bit more and a bit more noise. nothing serious

I have this setup on my car currently! Running a VRSF catless downpipe + M2 muffler. Sounds amazing when on throttle, yet not overly loud when not.

I have a couple sound clips on my Instagram @nandohatesyou.

Do you have any videos of it with the stock downpipe?

Yes I do, I forgot to mention the most recent two (vs the scatpack and tuning the burbles on BM3) are catless, all the others are stock downpipe.

Vicrez, its a knockoff of the Autoplus diffuser, I just had them make cutouts for the quad pipes.

Can you share a link to where you purchased?

I've had the m2 exhaust on my car for years, sounds great. No real bumper valence compatibility so I had to take a dremel to the stock one and enlarge the exhaust opening to fit the quad tips. If you use the stock lower bumper valence than the m2 tips will stick out far. I had to cut the tips down in size so they didn't look funky

You can go to the vicrez website directly or check amazon or even ebay for the autoplus knockoffs as well. I got the Cf one because that was all that was available when i bought it, but if i was doing it now, would just do plastic, and get it painted afterwards.
