Rain Damage on Interior Plastic?

I have noticed whitish spots appearing on the driver's seat latch when it rains. It must be from rain coming in while the door is open, but the car was pre-owned and had no spots before. No spots on passenger side. Any ideas on how to get these off?

I’d try car wax. Make sure it’s not a liquid or paste that states must be kept off of rubber and or plastic. Use a microfiber towel - that will work better on the texture then a sponge or cotton rag.

There are plastic trim treatments but I think we really want to clean and remove whatever is causing the spots.

I've got the same thing happening on my driver's side latch. Anyone else solve this problem?

Looks like mineral deposits. Have you tried CLR or vinegar?

I figured out a good solution. Use a little silicone tire shine. Only a small drop. Work it in with a microfiber cloth. So far its been a few months and the stains have not returned.
