Cooling Vents
Just curious due to the placing of my vents on my hood, what problems could I run into if it were to rain or I took my car to a car wash without any covering of the vents? One is directly over my AFE Magnum Force Cold Air Intake.

if your intake has a cover over the filter like a air box style, you should be fine. If it doesnt, could turn into bad news bears when washing and or if driving in the rain.

it probably helps with venting heat from the engine, but probably does absolutely nothing for the intake.
That being said, i've been looking at vents my self... hitting 240f+ on a hot track day and need to get rid of some of that heat... Did you just rivet them on than paint?

You looked at the BMS piece that keeps the oil cooler open? I saw another company that has a similar piece, but it's designed to only open at ~180*. That's how I had my Setrab cooler set on my Z. I was thinking of going this route since it's my daily driver. From what I've seen with my JB4 it appears the OEM thermostat opens at 240*. Last edited by Anthony235; 06-06-2016 at 02:22 PM.. |

This can't be from rain or washing the car. He must have driven it into a river!
Honestly I would not worry too much about rain or washing the car. The amount of water actually getting into the throttle will be minimal and quickly burned off. I like the vents by the way. Would be interested in hearing more about the process Nice Tab by the way |

That ACL2 is so ugly lol...
No idea what drugs they were on when they thought green was a good color. Where did you get the vents from?
