M235i TT Review v3 -- Now with Video!

Hello again everyone:

For my prior threads on this see http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1057603

So, in my last thread, someone suggested that I take some video of me driving. Well, ask and ye shall receive:

Video is just a rough cut -- I tried to get rid of as much traffic as I could. Also, sorry about the wind -- forgot to bring my full enclosure for the GoPro.

Car is still a blast, but still having issues with my front tires getting chewed up. I ordered some camber plates from Ground Control which should be here this week, which should help alleviate that.

Also, I know last time I mentioned I was switching to Dirrezzas. Good decision honestly. They stick better than the PSS with no squirm under heavy breaking.

If anyone has any questions (or would like to make fun of my driving) leave it in the thread.

Looks like a fun time! Am I sick because I watched the whole thing?

2 and 8 really chew tires. Turn 2 you throttle steer through at about 80-85 mph and accelerate out. Turn 8...well after this session I went with an instructor and he encouraged me to "push" it. I think I was just south of 130 mph (according to him).

I was in DSC off the entire time, and I have a 6MT, so I was rowing my own.

That particular run I was at 34 ice cold and about 41ish hot.

Very nice, thanks for posting up, looked like a great time. Good job of reeling them in, how long did you hang with the c7?

Till the front straight. But honestly, he should have blown my doors off on turn 8. I was lifting on 8 so as not to run into the guy, but if he had some cojones he could have easily taken turn eight at 140+.

Does it really cost around $3K to get started at Willows?

What camber plates did you order? When I research they all say not for cars with adaptive suspension.

Nope. I guess if you sign up for you own day, it might, but if you run with a group (that day I was with AROSC) it was under $300 for the whole weekend. Great deal if you ask me.

I thought the same thing too. I contacted Ground Control on a whim, and they told me that the F30 camber plates will work with our suspension, so long as the adaptive damper wiring is connected to the side of the strut tower, rather than the top. They don't know why the wiring is different on some, and not others. Anyway, just take your phone and shoot a picture of the inside of the front strut. Should be pretty obvious if you're wired correctly. I sent the pictures to them and they said I was good to go. They're fabricating my plates right now.

If you are interested, the part code for the correct camber plates is CCPF30STREET. Honestly, if you track, the $550 ish cost of the plates will be offset by the tires you'll save from being chewed on the track.
