New M235i owner. Shifting feel question
Hey everyone,
I picked up a 2015 M235i last week. I noticed in Sport mode when accelerating hard to about 4000 RPM (keeping RPM low during break in period) and then shifting with the paddles that there is a bit of a jolt between shifts. Is this normal? Thanks! |

There is a jolt when I manually shift the current BMW I am driving. All depends on how much throttle you are using as well as what rpm you are at.

Yep - I noticed the same and I'm still under 300 miles...I believe its normal. I'm not concerned and it's reminiscent of my M3's that had SMG II and DCT.

Awesome. Thanks guys! Can't wait to buy stuff for this car! I am coming from a 2014 GTR to this. A bit of a downgrade in performance but I got sick of seeing a car I very rarely drove sit in my garage and depreciate.

You should notice the most jolt, or as I would describe it - a kick in the pants, when in sport mode and with the shifter over in Sport too. If you switch into comfort, there is much less kick during shifts. I believe it's operating as designed.
The GTR is a great ride. I hope you enjoy the M235i. |

That's normal. Wait until you can go beyond 4000 rpm. Stick is fun but you won't be disappointed with this one.
