Refreshed 2015 1-Series being announced tomorrow

This is very strange to me. I thought the 2 replaced the 1... and now they are announcing a new 1?

It's a front wheel drive four door sedan, à la Audi A3 and MB CLA. Built on a common UKL platform with Mini Cooper.

The BMW 1 Series is still a model name for a rwd 3/5 door hacthback that is being sold in many markets, and BMW wants now to compete in the small 4 door sedan range, with a 1 series FWD sedan.

I believe this announcing may be the facelifted -2 series matching front design- 1 series .

My 2 cents

Still, it´s a new bmw so tomorrow we will all be talking (pros and cons) about it!!!

I just looked at the pictures of the new 1. It looks like the 2, but it comes in a 2 door and 4 door hatchback.

So it appears as though it's going to be a MINI with a BMW body. I don't know about the FWD, though. I understand they need to compete with MB and Audi, but there's just something about a FWD BMW that doesn't sit well. I do miss my MINI but what I don't miss about it is bump steer and torque steer. It's nice to have a tossable car like the 228 without those two "features".

It's just the facelift/LCI 1 series hatchback...same platform as the 2 (and actually came a couple of years before it...)

Not sure What pictures you looked at, however, it does not look (exterior) anything like the 2er...

Pretty sure there's absolutely no chance that the US market is going to get the hatch. We're going to get the FWD sedan 1er based off of the UKL platform.

Though it does look like the unveil is for a refreshed 1er for the other markets.

I actually don't hate it. Looks pretty nice and will compete even better with the A3 than the 2 series.
