OK, so I have the tail light condensation too. Seems to be a common problem. Brought to the dealer, and was told it was likely my aftermarket sub on the left side that damaged the seals on the left light. Whatever. Anyone else get told this? Have so say I was a bit shocked as it seems to be a common problem. Perhaps not where I go. Anyway both are leaking, but only one showed the condensation so they are only changing one. Bottom line is if you have this and your car is under warranty and you have this make sure the dealer sees it as they need evidence for BMW to change under warranty.

sounds like they are just trying to pass the buck. especially since the tail light is completely on the outside of the car and not accessible from the inside. they think the sub rattled out the seal?!?! that'd be a crap seal then! I'd keep fighting with them.

Well they said they would replace one but not the other since it didn't show any condensation. My fault for not bringing it in when it was present. Guess my laziness paid off . Still thought the excuse was silly as there seem to be a number of these on the forum.

i had the passenger side replaced a few months ago under warranty and just had the drivers side replaced yesterday, also under warranty.
Both for water in the reverse light lens. Both were dry when I brought it to the dealer, but I took pictures when they were wet and sent the pictures to my SA. Apparently that was enough for warranty.

I had a new one installed 2 months ago. Also have condensation now. Service advisor said there is a service bulletin from BMW regarding the wiring installation process, causing condensation issues.

BMW is going to repair it free of cost. I am not under warranty but I assume the job is.

Reviving this thread to add some info.

Back in January I brought my 2016 F22 in to the dealership for condensation in the taillights. No warranty left on the vehicle and they charged me a little over $700. Yeah, should have just bought the LCI tail lights but what's done is done. Anyway, went to www.bmw-rp.com and punched in my vin to find there was an extended warranty for tail lights so I submitted my bill for reimbursement. The worst they could say was no.

After 6 months of absolutely nothing from BMW, I got a reimbursement check in the mail today for the full amount. If you're having a condensation problem (or perhaps any problem for that matter) with your tail lights, check out www.bmw-rp.com. You might be able to get reimbursement for the work, albeit 6 months later.

Hope this helps someone.

Yes thank you this is helpful. I have an appointment with the dealer this Friday for brakes - last one under warranty - and will certainly discuss this yet again with the SA.

If you have condensation, mine happened after washing car, it would be a good idea to try and show up to the dealer with condensation already present in the taillights and have them make a note while doing the initial vehicle inspection.

I only say this because my lights would not get "foggy" right when you blasted it with water. Rather, it was not until about 30-60 minutes after I washed the car that all the moisture would start building up inside. Anyway, I got both lights replaced under warranty but they first came back saying no moisture was present after hosing it down. They inspected again later in the day and sure enough, moisture was present in both sides.
