HELP! Tyre advice. (M240i - oem suspension)
Ok I'm going to fit 235/40 on 18" 8.5J ET40 in a couple of weeks with Michelin pilot sports 4. Should I fit without rim protection on the tyre due to strut clearance, as I will only have just over 8mm from the rim to the strut. Also has anyone got any photos to show this tyre and wheel size to see if the tyre goes beyond the rim or is flush?

Not an exact match, but he is running 18x8.5 ET45 with a 5mm spacer giving an effective offset of 40. The tires are AS3s rather than PS4S, but hopefully that gives you a better idea of what it would look like.

Cheers. This helped me decide. I got ET43 with 3mm spacers on 18" 8.5j all round and fitted 235/49 front and 255/35 rear and no rubbing on oem suspension 👍
