Spotify on ID6 - Song list not showing

Hi

I may be imagining this, I may not. I have a '18 F22, non Apple Carplay prep with ID6/NBT Evo

Up until recently, I'm sure that Spotify displayed the song list/playlist on the screen, and same with the dash. I'm almost certain I could scroll through the list of songs, rather than having to select next song however many times. At the moment, it now only shows the currently playing song, along with previous or next. Same for both the ID and the dashboard.

Am I imagining this, or has a setting has changed somewhere?

I've checked elsewhere, and it definitely had it. I don't have carplay nor EBT. Any ideas?

spotify app stopped working on my 2018 car as well. No idea why. I am using a galaxy s8 and am thinking of switching to an Iphone 12 so I can do carplay and get that feature back.

Spotify itself still works, just the song list isn't showing. I found a picture of another car in the same spec that had it, so it definitely does it, or did it.

Spotify has arbitrarily decided to remove Apps 4 Automotive Android functionality in their current versions of software. I've been a Spotify subscriber for a long time and this is just another in a long list of backwards decisions by them to remove useful features. You can however, still get it to work if you stick to an older version of the Spotify software. After it stopped working for me, I downgraded my app to ver. 8.5.60.1013 and normal functionality has been working pretty consistently (there are still occasional glitches). It's a bit of a pain to have to remember to never update the app when doing other app updates - you will have to turn off Auto-update or else constantly have to re-install the old version, but it least it's working.

You can read more about it in this article: https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/08/17/a...a%20statement.
