Windshield Chip

Hey all,

I noticed a VERY small chip in the middle of my windshield and was wondering if I should bother having it repaired. It's so tiny that you really have to be looking for it to notice it (I would estimate it's like the size of a pencil tip). It is not "spidering" out or anything yet. Is there something I can do DIY to keep it from getting worse or should I call Safelite or something similar. Again, it's not big enough to cause any issue right now but I do not want to see it get larger over time.

I read a few places online to use clear nail polish but not sure if that's advisable.

Thanks!

I'd get it fixed so no possibility of it getting worse. But I'd be there for any repair so that the tech doesn't scrape his clothing on the paint.

Or

Search if there are newer more advanced repair methods

Personally, I'd wait, unless it is really driving you nuts and in yr line of vision, or you are about to come off insurance/warranty. R&R on a windshield can be a big job, and the potential for something else to get dinged or loosened would have me wait 'til it had collected a few more dings, to make it all worthwhile. Plus many shops don't use factory glass.
