Pulled out of Storage (3-4 years)
Hey guys,
I'm pulling my car out of storage after roughly 3-4 years. It was stored at a friend's shop - so they moved it in between garages or on the lift at least a few times per month (to my knowledge) Hoping to get guidance on what else I'll need to do to get car prepped for daily use. Change: oil, power steering, tranny fluid, gas Replace cabin filter Replace battery Thanks in advance! |

I would replaced/change: Oil Coolant Diff oil if you have an lsd Trans fluid Plugs Gas Tires if they are dry rotted or flat spotted. I wouldn't worry about your battery. You could always throw it on a trickle charger a day or so before you plan to start it. The car will let you know right away if you need a new one. Our cars don't have ps fluid. They are electric assist. The car is still new enough that rubber suspension components probably are still fine. While driving if you have any new noises/clunks I would check out the bushings, specifically your tension strut to chassis bushing. These are typically the first to go.

Brake fluid; and be careful - after sitting brakes can get problems that don't show for a few hundred miles. You might want to drop Mike Miller an email - I doubt that diff and tranny are time-dependent, more likely by mileage. I wouldn't run it much on whatever gas was in it, try to siphon off as much as you can.
