Creative ideas for weathertech dead-pedal "bug"?

So I got some Weathertech custom liners for my M235i, and they have the stupidest design ever. They don't cover the dead-pedal, so anything melting out of the sole of your boots flows UNDER the liner!!!!! completely defeating the purpose.

Where I live, there is no way to clean off the snow and slush - that's why I bought the liners.

Please don't give me advice on how where you live you can take off your shoes and wear slippers of flip-flops or whatever - not helpful.

Any creative solutions? are there other similar products that do go up the dead pedal? Husky and Tuxmat don't seem to make them for this car.

I seem to hover foot over the clutch more often than not, might be different during highway miles.

I'd be more worried about the gas pedal myself.

Just need to vacuum all the cracks and crevices out once in a while. Not sure if any rust protection is possible for the pedal hinge.

The only thing that I can think of quickly is to add a pc of plastic/stiff rubber from the liner up the dead pedal. Maybe attach with rivets?

I use the BMW rubber mats in the winter. In Minnesota we get plenty of salty slop getting tracked into the car.

I get way more slush/slop dribbling down around the gas pedal than I do the dead pedal. Since you can't really do anything about the gas pedal exposure (without some possibly dangerous cover flap), I wouldn't worry about the dead pedal side that much.

I might buy Weathertec mats if they didn't have that gaping gap under the gas pedal. In my wife's car I added a piece of plastic under the floor mat. Looks clunky but she likes it.

Not sure what rubber winter mats I have, came with car when I bought it used but they say BMW so might be OEM BMW. Anyhoo last year I had same problem I'd still get water running down the dead pedal.

Then when I took them out to vacuum there was some nice brown/red rusty mess at the bottom of the dead pedal. Then again when I removed them in spring to go back to regular mats.
