Wheel bearings

Forgive me if I missed the thread on this somewhere but how are everyone’s wheel bearings holding up for those of us tracking and dailying?

No idea on my car. As hot as our brakes get, I think it's worth paying attention to, though.

Since his car is track-only now, you might try PMing msendit to see if he's had his out and examined them.

When my E36 race car needed fresh wheel bearings, the shop would disassemble them and re-pack them with Red Line CV-2 high-temperature bearing grease. That car's brakes didn't get particularly hot.

No need for PM-ing -- I haven't had mine out, but am pleasantly surprised by how well they've held. 150+ track hours on the original set and counting, haven't seen play. This is with sticky tires, hot brakes, kerb hopping and general abuse.

Was actually planning to change them preventatively this winter. At this point they've more than paid their dues.
