Installed a VIOFO A119 V3 Dash Cam. Ran the cable between the windshield and the headliner and then in the rubber seal down the side to the ODB port as a power source. The ODB adapter has a switch that shuts off the power a few minutes after you turn off the engine. You can leave it on if you are running into a store, for example. No real visible wires and no hardwiring. I'm pretty happy with the install and so far no signs of battery issues. Name: IMG_3622.jpg

Started it up for the first time in 2022, drove to the inspection station to have it inspected for the first time (new cars in NJ have a 5 year inspection exemption), and drove away 10 minutes later with a new inspection sticker.

They did ask me to open the bonnet to visually verify it had a catalytic converter - the tech said the way it sounds he didn't think it had one.

You all ready for this?!!!

I tried to drain the non-cold weather wiper fluid by washing the windshield for like three minutes so I could add cold resistant fluid because this is the first car in my life that I’ve had wiper fluid freeze in (sub-zero temps in New England recently).

Should be good for 2-5 HP.

Ha! Do you know where the car came from before you bought it, or was it just filled with a warm weather fluid from this past summer? (Personally, I just use the same fluid year-round, even if I don't need the glycol in the summer. Just easier that way.)

Headlights and Tail lights upgraded to LED. Headlights I got from BayOptiks. Tail lights are euro spec black line LCI. Bought them from original-autoparts

I think it was a warm weather car (FL or AZ). The mechanic who inspected it before final sale said it’d never seen road salt since it was pristine underneath. So I grew up in cold weather and can’t remember a time I had wiper fluid freeze before, and ive never purchased the cold-weather specific fluid so this was a surprise to me. The cold formula seems to be working though!

The color match is on point. Where'd you get the material? I'd like to wrap my rear reflectors.

I'm not really sure of the exact name of the color, since i got it from a box of extra vinyl drops at my job. I do know it's Avery sw 900 and one of the metallic silvers. If you can't figure out which one it is, I do have some extra.

Added this carbon fiber cover, now the silver shark doesn't stand out against the black roof. High quality for a 30 dollar eBay part, perfect fit to.

Upgraded my 2016's idrive to a touchscreen with ID6/CarPlay. Super simple swap thanks to Steve@Codemybimmer. Wish I’d done this earlier.

But maybe I shouldn't have gone with the touchscreen – tons of fingerprints already

If you don't mind sharing, what's the cost of such an upgrade?

It wasn’t cheap, but worth the upgrade for me. I feel like it modernizes my car and makes me want to keep it for much longer. I went a way cheaper route at first and eventually decided it was worth the cost to go "OEM". Hit up Steve here on the forums (steve@codemybimmer) or https://www.codemybimmer.ca/ and I’m sure he can help you out

Finished out (hopefully) on what will be the last internal upgrade on the M240i- rear deck speakers changed out to Focal IC 100s and replaced the Hi-Fi amp to the MATCH UP 7BMW.

I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, but my ears have experienced a whole new world in audio universe today and I will never ever be able to go back. It's amazing how an amp upgrade brings out the potential of the speakers. I thought the mid-range was amazing when I upgraded just the door(s) and center speaker + stock amp...adding the new amp and rear deck speakers was the chef's kiss.

Also installed the TechnicPNP ASD bypass harness- I should've done this 4 years ago. It's amazing how cutting out the artificial exhaust noise enables the music to fill the cabin and changing driving modes won't raise the volume. Not sure if coding achieves the same results, but a must-do for those that value music sound over exhaust sound (inside).

I've been tempted, but my ears are more sensitive to BSRs than improved music. If removing/reinstalling any trim piece created even the slightest buzz, squeak, or rattle, I'd be kicking myself for even starting this. My car is amazingly solid with zero BSR 7+ years out and that is my top priority still.

Noises seem to come and go depending on temperature and humidity too. For the most part the car has been solid.

I can't seem to pinpoint one buzz that seems to have disappeared with the colder temps. If I had to guess it was coming from either the rear view mirror or the passenger side dashboard. Would need a passenger with a good ear to trace.

Edit: I've also done the drop ins w/ added sail speakers and not had any unwanted noises. The only thing I could see being a problem is rivets or clips on your door card. Hope to add an amp one day, maybe after an LSD.

Hah, I'm the exact same way but it sure is tempting when you hear reviews like greatness

Threw a Dinan intake on the 240. A really simple job with very interesting results..

Sound improvement? Nothing I can tell

Power improvement? Absolutely.. no doubt.. I can say Nah.. nothing I can feel

Looks? Oh yea.. definitely a ++ on the bling scale

It looks good! I'm planning on having mine installed sometime this year.

While I'll enjoy the unit's looks when I hook-up and disconnect the trickle charger, it's the "+ 15 HP @ 6000 RPM & + 13 lb-ft @ 6000 RPM (+ 13 WHP & + 11 WTQ) without additional modifications" that most attracted me to the unit.

I wouldn't have bought it without performance improvements along those lines. I need giddy-up to go with those good looks!

The additional performance possibility did play into my decision, but finding it on sale was what truly pushed me over the edge. I've gone MHD Stg II, AA catted downpipe, and added XHP so the 240 runs damn good. The M-performance LSD makes a huge difference as well. The intake truly should blend well with these mods and offer a tinge more all-around performance.
