Pure luck: went to go find the tilt adjustment and barely spotted something different looking.

I lost one of my E90 keys and found it a year later in my washing machine catch filter.
While it was very clean, it did not work.

Fortunately I gave myself a month to find it. I KNEW it was in the house because I hadn't left the house since I lost it. I looked for like 3 hours high and low and didn't find it.

I once dropped mine in a pile of logs in my log shed.

The shed was rammed to about 6ft high and 12ft wide of logs. I probably emptied about a third of the logs before there the key was. It'd weaved itself through several layers of logs. Relieved but would've preferred not to have done it.
