Destroyed rear bump stop on my M235i

So long story short. Was changing out my pass rear speed/abs sensor (dtc, abs, active handling lights all lit up intermittently) and noticed my bump stop was obliterated. Car has 50k miles so I was a bit surprised. The shock seems fine and car handles normal. Anyone ever had the same issue? Hard job to tackle? Doesn't also seem like there are a lot of options for replacement shocks if wanted to do that.
