Head Unit Dropped Screw

Hi,

I did a dumb dumb. When removing my headunit to install a wifi antenna, I dropped one of the screws which secured the front of the control panel. The screw fell down past where I could reach it. (down and to the right) Has anyone got any advice/photos of removing the pieces needed to get down there?

2018 F22 M240i RHD Auto

Thanks

Get a replacement screw and forget about the dropped screw. 50% chance it won't rattle .

would a magnetic grab tool have a chance of picking it out ?

Been there, done that. Even tried a magnet tool to see if I could find it and pull it out (no luck). No rattle. Nice to know I'm in good company dropping a screw.

Sounds like you will be fine, but everyone should have an extending magnet set like this.

I retrieved a metal clip I dropped into the rear quarter panel. The clinkiest metal piece in a long cavity. It would have been the nightmare rattle. It literally would have made me want to sell the car. The moment I heard the magnet click onto the part was glorious.

I have several different ones like that in all different sizes that extend and have flex joints in them

Slight necro but I just had this happen. I pulled off the panel above the footwell and the screw was easy to grab. It only takes two 10mm screws and a few clips.
