As far as I am concerned (don't quote me) this video is just for NA cars. Since we have a turbo, we actually don't want back pressure. So technically removing the resonators should/could help performance. Probably not by much. Won't hurt anything though. This is why high performance cars have less restrictive exhaust systems.

And no, it will not affect your emissions. This is all after the cat. |

If you got the GoPro, I'd love to hear some videos from the inside and outside while driving. Please and thanks!

Not really. Maybe very, very subtle, but it could be my imagination. The resonators are both straight through so there's not much to gain. When we ripped out the front resonator, I was really hoping it was actually a cat after the o2 sensor, but no such luck |

Living with the Resonator Delete
My M240i is on order but won't be delivered till July. In the mean time, I am reading (and listening) to the various exhaust mods for this car and anticipate that I will be making changes to my car after it arrives. Based on the various videos and comments about MP mufflers which seem to slightly deepen the exhaust note but not raise the output volume significantly, are those of you who just did the resonator delete still happy with the results? Do you plan to also add the MP muffler to lower the tone? Also, has anyone yet deleted just the front resonator and care to share how that turned out?

The cheap and also great option: Buy the Dinan midpipe and keep the stock muffler. The MPE it's a subtle improvement over the stock muffler. Deeper tone but lack of burping... It would be great if you could fit the MPE with the Dinan midpipe but i guess that's not possible... Last edited by AlexM240i; 04-11-2017 at 06:43 AM.. |

I did the dual resonator delete and couldn't be happier with the results.
Here's a short video clip I recorded: |

The exhaust has probably 10-15% more sound but with the windows up you still barely hear it except a very subtle overrun sound. With the windows down, you can definitely hear the exhaust! |

This mod sound pretty impressive. The sound is right up there with exhausts costing a TON! Since there is almost no gains from exhaust mods other than sound, I think I might have to pull the trigger on this one.
The money I save can go to a Dinan Elite! |
