This morning I took my recently purchased 2017 M240i to https://germanautospecialist.net/ for oil, air filters and a general checkup. I probably could have waited until I got the registration from the DMV, which will allow me to get all the service records for the car from the BMW dealership where the car was originally leased (I bought it from an auction reseller) but I wanted to start the papertrail of service right away.

It's awesome having a very reputable indy shop less than a mile from my house.

Mirror sticker removal and I used black shoe polish to fix the sticker outline. It looks much better in person then with a bright flash.

Good trick with the shoe polish, I will try that.

Took it in for repairs to the headliner, (convertible). The tension straps caused it to tear a small hole on both the left and right side back by the rear window. This is the 2nd time it has happened! They gave me a new 2021 m235i xdrive GC to drive. It’s a nice car, but in no way compares to the way ours handles.

Thanks, it's not actually a wrap, I take real CF sheets and remove the original reflectors and basically laminate them. I wanted CF instead of the normal paint match ones but know one makes them so... DIY.The 3 stripes are the high reflection tape on Amazon for BMW, that's what is on my front grill too. The little shark fins on top are just for fun.

Do you have a picture from a bit more far to see the exact zone where you have this tear ? I have something similar and my dealer says they never saw this and try to put this on me. Thx

Popped both right tires in a large pothole on my way to sushi this evening. Will be putting the wheel and tire insurance to the test. Still made it to sushi at least!

Fuck NY roads.

Picked my car up today.

Turns out the wheels were bent in addition to the two flats. They were able to repair them though I really do not like this note, "Repaired both RF and RR rims to the best of my ability without a dial gauge. Repaired the rims by sight." I will be contacting my service manager in the AM regarding that as it's worded in a way that leads me to believe they may not be perfectly straight.

I also paid for an alignment based on their suggestion which made sense with how hard the impact was.

Any issues riding with opposite tires with tread wear vs fresh tires?

Driving home felt good overall though I thought I noticed some drift to the right during some harder accelerating through the gears. Not sure if that is the rims "repaired by site", uneven tire wear on one side of the car, some combination of the two, or my imagination.

Oof dam thankfully i didn't get any damage to the wheels the sidewalls on the runflats split I had both front end wheels damaged and with fresh rubber on the front the car did get very slippy in the wet letting the rear slide out with the front having no problem holding on.

But I'm a dumb idiot who got 2 new run flats for the back too rather than just getting some regular wheels all around lol

If opposite tires are worn vs fresh, they aren't really the same size, one wheel would spins slightly less than the others. Its not really recommended longer term so it would depends on your degree of wear. If its like 50% wear vs a fresh tire, I would just swap it out.

Take what I said with a grain of salt.

Just back yesterday from the Spa. One step paint correction and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light coating.

Pretty shiny.

Changed out the front grill to gloss black, best $40 spent.

Wash the car and put sealant as well as clean and triple coat the top with raggtop.

Looks good! At this point you probably need to go full George Hamilton and turn yourself orange to match.
