BMS Intake Issues

Hey Guys-

Currently have a 17 230ix. So far the car has Dinantronics V2, ER chargepipes, Dinan exhaust. Iím waiting for my dinan intake and bought a BMS intake in the meantime after my SA said there were no warranty issues.

Installed properly - drove for about 20 min or so. I went to accelerate a little harder in fourth and at 4-5k a drivetrain malfunction popped. No CEL nothing else.

I have since reverted back to stock but still see the Drivetrain warning. Car seems to driving fine now but the warning is still there.

My assumption is that it is an MAF issue - wondering if anyone had experienced similar issues and if the code should go away on its own at this point.

Thanks in advance.

Code has been cleared since reverting to stock. Will be running a drop in until dinan intake arrives. Not sure if this is common but pretty disappointed with BMS. I will say the car did sound great for the 20 min I had it on.

What drivetrain malfunction "popped"?
What does that mean...

And quite honestly, nothing should be popping from just an open cone type setup.

We'll need to know the code in order to help. I have not encountered any issues with the BMS intake on this engine

How do you like the sound of the Dinan exhaust? Big improvement over stock? Got my 17 230ix in November and have both the Dinan exhaust and intake ordered but shipping keeps getting pushed back.

The Dinan Exhaust is great. No drone to speak of and sounds much better over stock even when putting around town- having the exhaust valve removed is nice but it doesnt make it too overbearing. I can try and post some sound clips if youd like.

What have you done to your car - if anything?

That's awesome to hear! I'd love to hear a clip if you have one, I've only heard it on Dinan's site on a 328i I believe. And great to hear its not overbearing at all, just looking for something a bit deeper without being too loud.

As for me, everything so far has been cosmetic. Chrome delete, grill, rebadge, tint...that's about it. Hoping the exhaust and intake come in soon. Also I've been wanting to get some springs but they seem impossible to find for the xdrive models. I've found these Vogtland springs that might be the best option from what I've been able to find.

After the exhaust and intake, next step would be bootmod3. Love this car so far and can't wait to finally get some upgrades going!

I havent found anyone who actually installed them but am looking for suspension options and there arent a ton unless youre going full coilover...
