Lower, front control arms

You can add me to the list of leaking bushings on the lower, front control arms. I started seeing small drips on my garage floor at least 2 years ago and wondered what it was from. I figured it was caused by the last oil change. My reliable service shop spotted the problem, so I had the control arms replaced plus alignment and 4 new OEM Michelin Super Sport tires. All this at just over 16,000 miles. The tires were worn, but not worn out. The tires were cracked. Car will turn 7 years old next month, so not complaining. Drives like new.

Did you happen to note the date codes on the cracked tires – if so, what were they?

No, I didn't look for date codes.

I bought the car new in May, 2014 and it came factory equipped with the Michelin Super Sport tires. I don't have any reason to believe those original tires were calendar old, but who knows.

This is not the first time I've had tires crack from age and had to be replaced before the tread wear bars started showing. Sunlight, ozone, etc. eventually catches up with tires.
