Getting started

I ordered my first BMW (a 2-series) and it should be here in two weeks. I'm reading about coding and was wondering if there was a "getting started" guide. Also curious of the risks and how I can avoid breaking my new toy immediately after getting it.

Thanks!

I personally think the Bimmercode app is the easiest way to code your car.
Its a $30 app and you need a obd adapter to use it.
There are so many youtube videos on how to code with bimmercode.

Thanks. I've seen a few of the videos. I guess I just keep thinking "there's got to be more to it than that."

I'm actually not even sure what I'd want to code, I've just seen a few mentions of it around here so thought I'd ask.

Bimmercode makes it simple. Unless you go in their expert mode.
Make sure you fully research what your coding cause you can do damage.

congrats on your new ride! as for the getting started guide if youre gonna use E-sys, you can find here attached.

Dont be confused by lot of debate of E-sys vs Bimmercode, in the end, it depends of what are you gonna do with your car.
if it's only for playing, i'd suggest get bimmercode.
if it's gonna be used for more advanced level, then Esys is your choice.
