This test of Amazon Basics vs. LiquiMoly just came out today. It's home-brew scientific, but a somewhat convincing case for Amazon Basics (made by Warren). Maybe ill try Amazon Basics oil... Man, never thought I'd say that. |

Kinda disappointed with the results, but I'm still gonna stick with the liqui. I read a couple coments that said the 4200 was not a full synthetic.... But I didn't look I'm to if further. I use special tech long life. |

I would go with Penzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 or AMSOIL European Car Formula 5W-40 Classic Last edited by pikcachu; 04-08-2019 at 09:37 PM.. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't BMW require that LL01 designated oil be used otherwise they could void engine warranty? I vaguely remember reading that somewhere a while back. I've used LiquiMoly in my past 3 BMW's with no issues. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. For me at least.

Oh ok lol I was talking about LM which I've been using for almost 10 years without incident. For me I'll stick with it since it's been working just fine in all my BMW's. I don't know if BMW will void warranty if using non-LL01 oil such as the Amazon brand?
