Just test drove DINAN m235i... weird issue?
so just got done test driving a 2015 m235i x drive with full dinan package...intake, exhaust, tune and the dinan foot pedals. not sure what else at this point.
first off, best handling car I have ever personality driven. car sounded mean as to be expected and pulled quick. didn't blow me away but so much different than my 328i... just felt meater and stout. loved it. however, if I am in say 3rd or 4th around 3K rpm and give it a decent amount of gas I feel this weird vibration or stutter. The car doesn't buck but I feel it in my ass. Very strange vibration. what do you guys think? misfire? boost leak? fuel issue? I ran it up to 100mph and it pulled strong... |

I routinely felt similar vibrations in higher load situations like that when running the Dinan Sport on my M235. I believe it's the DME trying to make sense out of the wonky data being presented to it from a piggyback. It allows for the power, but sometimes it does so with reluctance and somewhat less refinement compared to no manipulation of the inputs.

though would think that the full dinan ecu (vs sport) wouldn't have that issue. |

Sometimes in my 6spd stock 235 when I lift off the gas at high rpm and let the car decelerate there is a driveline vibration for a few seconds as the rpm’s drop down.
I figured it was a harmonic thing related to the transmission mount. Not any kind of defect. |

The full Dinan tune still goes through the DME because it is still a piggyback. If the vibration isn't that hard, maybe you can see if the car has the Dinan mid pipe delete? maybe it could cause a vibration?

I know when the shop installed my Dinan midpipe, it was hitting one of the cross-members and causing a pretty decent vibration under certain conditions.. Could be that. Fixed it with a couple of washers.
