When it's at home, my 12GA is configured with pistol grip and short, but still legal, barrel. I got pretty good at hitting skeet in that configuration, off the hip.

Not ANYTHING like a home-defense situation, but still. I'll probably need a brace if I ever have to unload those 3" magnum load slugs. And I have an extra 5 shells on a sleeve that goes over the barrel, in case 5 isn't enough.

I'm actually hopeful that if I'm ever in that sort of situation, the mere sound of me racking a shell will be enough to motivate the intruder to leave.

Good choice.

Here's hoping you never have a need to test that theory, however!

Can I just be the first to say - if anyone legitimately needs more than 10 rounds in their magazine for "self defense" or "to protect hearth and home" - first and foremost: they really need to learn to aim.

Not so fast. CA just raised the sales tax in 50+ cities. +0.5% to +1.0%. I LOVE CA! Some cities over 10% now. OH YEAH!

Luckily not here this year. Still, I’ll take 50% more rounds for the same price or cheaper than the CA compliant 10 round mags. Pricing seems a bit more equal searching around today than a year or more ago when I last compared.

Yeah. That google doc I posted has a growing list of places throwing open their doors and subsequently selling out online. Brownells is apparently claiming 350k magazines sold to Californians since Monday. I’d imagine we’re well into the millions if not tens of millions sold all total across all fronts by now.

And because it’s worth reposting as much as possible:

Sadly, there is no such thing as a 'final judgement' in CA gun laws.

Its such BS, they come up with a bunch of f-ed up rules, we comply because, generally speaking legal gun owners ARE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. Then they change the rules and make us criminals with little or no explanation of what the new rules are, but you are still a felon.

Then you figure out the new rules and comply (making your rifle 'featureless, or pun in a 'bullet button, or plugging you magazines to 10), and then they change the rules again. Its a bunch of BS.

I personally got the two 80% guns that I completed (an ar and a 1911), out of the state. I plugged my mags, and disassembled my ars and built a couple rifles back as 'featureless'
