Wheel center caps - OEM vs Amazon
The one on the left with black plastic back is the OEM center cap - the OEM costs 4 times as much, but I really don't see much difference other than the back, which is a different color and goes in the wheel a bit deeper. We'll see how they hold up, so far so good.

that grey one from Amazon has a BMW roundel and a part number on it (didn't check it tho). it may be OE also. can you post the Amazon link to it?
FWIW, I bought a aftermarket trunk roundel for my beater E36 a year ago from Amazon knowing full well it wasn't OE. it didn't have any clear on it and the color on it has gotten chalky and started to run. $8 vs $35+, can't be mad, lol.

The black plastic rounded base also seems to be moulded to the metal roundel, whereas the grey plastic one has the metal roundel bent over it and held with four tabs bent over the back, it just seem to be floating free without those tabs as opposed to being bonded or moulded to the base.
