Mystery sensor on screen

I recently imported a car from Japan which has a sensor attached to the screen. Does anyone know what this is please?

I don't recognize that as a BMW part, perhaps this is the previous owners (assuming used?) garage or toll pass?

Don't some Japanese cars have an electronically assignable toll pass? I do remember seeing that on the BMW part list, but I don't actually know how it looks. I always thought it was built into the area where the rain sensor was, but maybe not.
