No Audio out thru USB, plays on phone speakers.

So I've had my 15 228i for 1.5 years and I've never had an issue with this. When I plug in my USB to play music it just plays it thru my iPhone it will not play thru the speakers like it used to. This is really odd because my phone hasn't had an update and I don't use the BMW connected services so I don't think it could have received an OTA (Over the Air) update.

I tried deleting my device and reading it but 7t didn't work. It's not a big deal because I usually play my music via Bluetooth. But those times I want to charge my phone and listen to music I can't it's annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Issue seems to have corrected itself as of yesterday. Odd.

Not really. That was roughly the time iOS pushed out the 11.4.1 update, which reportedly screwed with a bunch of functions if you didn't download and install the update promptly. (For instance: On my X, about four days passed before I suddenly couldn't get on WiFi networks until I installed the update.)

This happens frequently with OS updates, no matter the platform. I'm willing to bet that was the source of your 'hiccup'.

Yeah I have an iPhone X on 11.4.1 as well go figure. I also have a galaxy S9 plus and quite frankly that phone sucks compared to my X. I'm still way happier with iOS stability, performance, ease of use.

I've never been able to get audio pass through to the car on my Pixel XL. Maybe because it uses a usb-c?
