Picked up a pair from Home Depot, $40 each and you can string up to 9 of them together. Just hang from ceiling and plug into garage door opener outlet. I also got the GE wireless outlet switch to plug lights into them mounted switch on wall so you don't need to use the pull chain, that was an additional $20. Anyway I'm posting here because it made waxing the car and doing the interior MUCH easier since the light is so much better. Going to add a couple more. Will put some wire mold on the power cord once I've got the rest installed.

No that's two hooked together. They are 4' each come w a 14" connector cord or a little stubby one to connect together like I did. Will use the cord for corners.

Will post a link tomorrow. Just to give you an idea of the improvement with the door up at night you can see difference between old lights vs new pretty easily.

Here are the lights I used. I found mounting directly to the ceiling via the keyhole screw option to be VERY difficult. I decided to just shorten the chain to 6 links instead, much easier.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercia...3161/205331022

The switch I used is this one, but anything similar should work.

Hi BEM S4,
Did you think about using your old fixture, and just replacing the LED lights, and their tombstone?
Thanks for responding.

Not sure I follow. The only lights I had in there to begin with were 1 recessed light by the back door and the bulb in the garage door opener. It was really not adequate.

To answer where I think you are going with your question, I have no idea if what you linked would be better or worse if you have existing fixtures as opposed to getting all new lights. Wasn't an option for me so didn't investigate it at all.

This is the route I'll probably go. I have 5 dual bulb fluorescent fixtures in my garage and it's still not enough light. This seems like a simple enough conversion.

My Bad, Sorry,
I was assuming that you already had shop lights (florsent type) and were up grading.
The link from amozon shows them, but I found Philips LED at Home Depot for $10.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up one and really like it. I'll be adding another. I just had a single ceiling socket in the garage.

I went the DIY route and bought 12V LED strips off eBay, 5 meter 5050 60W for $10. I ripped some 2x4's into thin strips then stuck the rolls onto the strips. Each 5m roll will make 2x 8ft light strips. Then I bought a 12V 40A power supply for $50 and wired 14 of these light strips evenly through my garage ceiling. I now have 420W of super-bright and even LED lighting for less than $150 (have to buy wires and shit).

Good question. And what is the color balance like?

I have 15 quantity of 4' T8 fixtures in my garage. I would consider upgrading to LED if the color balance is similar. Going to be pricey, though, even at $10/bulb.

Just put three of the same lights as OP in my garage yesterday. They're much better than the two 60w compact fluorescent bulbs that were in there. Honestly, could probably do with putting in a few more.

I saw that. Unfortunately that doesn't mean anything to me. :/ I'm wondering if you noticed much of a difference and is it worth it?
