Bm3 vs CSF intercooler (pic comparison)

Hey guys. I’m doing some testing for the BM3 team again

This time I’m swapping out my current setup….csf intercooler, and evolution racewerks charge pipe for the new kit released from ProTuning Freaks Bm3.

Here are some photos of Sid by side comparisons.
As you can see the BM3 intercooler is both taller, thicker, and features a different end tank design.
The welds are clean, and appear to have good penetration.
It comes with new mounting hardware.

As for the charge pipe, the BM3 kit is half aluminum (throttle body connection), and half silicone (intercooler connection). Vs the ER charge pipe which is all aluminum with a silicone coupler. This may make install easier having the large silicone piece, which is more flexible.
They both have 2 bungs, but in slightly different places.

I Will have some real world testing soon (it’s been raining the last few days).
the initial drive home I was able to make 18~ psi with ots map, and a turbo parts canada stg2 hybrid turbo according to my AEM boost gauge (will do some logs when it dries up)

Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow and I will do some logs on the BMW club cruise we have planned.

Install was great, no issues.

Ptf intercooler. Er racing charge pipes.

Will test with the ptf charge pipes next

When I install the ptf unit I won’t use heat tape since it has a silicone section.

One thing to note the PTF charge pipe is slightly larger in diameter than the ER charge pipe. Hopefully this will mean faster spool / lower duty cycle when coupled with a larger turbo inlet. Exciting times
