19'' BBS CI-R

Hi guys,

The really sexy BBS CI-R are now available in 19''.

If found the car of f80 member "rushx85" on Google

We don't have many options for our F22s (for the rear), 19x9 ET48, 19x9 ET32 or 19x9.5 ET40. 9.5'' ET40 is probably not very safe, but what about the 9'' ET32 option (probably worst) ? Do the 9'' ET48 require spacers to be agressiv ? Which option would you choose ?

BBS recommends 19 X 8 et 45 for the front and 19 X 9 et 48 for the rears off the BBS USA site.

Pretty much ruled these wheels out considering their et and widths are too conservative (unless 265's can be stuffed in the back of a car lowered on Dinan springs and not rub).

Compared to the standard aftermarket rear wheel fitment a la VMR (19x9.5et 45 with 255-30-19 tires) The CIR's 19x9 et48 would leave the rear wheel recessed into the fender by 9.3mm. I'm thinking it might be possible to bridge the gap and have the appearance of being flush by adding a 3-5mm spacer and a 265 tire. Not 100% sure on clearance though as a 255 tire on a 9.5 inch wheel will have a little bit of stretch and thus extra fender clearance.

Also, and I'm hoping someone can prove me wrong, but any spacer above 5mm and below 15mm wouldn't work due to the lack of a lip.

Based on BBS's Instagram, someone picked up a set for an m235i. Hopefully they are on the forums and could provide some pictures. If there is the tiniest bit of concave and 265's are rub free I might give them a go considering the options for decent wheels for the f22 are so limited.

ET48 is only 3mm difference to ET45 when comparing same tire widths. 19x9 ET48 with 255 width tires would be perfect in the rear IMO.

If were just talking about the et difference on the wheels it would be a larger difference as 9 inch wide et 45 wheel will be more recessed than a 9.5 inch wide et 45 wheel. Although the setup pictured below does look pretty flush. Its hard to tell exactly how close it is in this picture though + the ride height looks stock.

At any rate, after doing tons of instagram stalking trying to find someone with this setup, I found someone in South Africa that seems to be the first person on CIR's.

When asked about the specs I was told they are 19x8 et 45 with 235/35/19 tires and 19x9 et48 255/30/19.

I also noticed that bbs added a 19 x 8.5 et 35 wheel in 5x 120 so a more aggressive front could be run at the expense of dropping down to a 225 tire.

Tire advice needed

Bumping this thread. After seeing them installed I'm about to pull the trigger on these wheels Looking for a someone who is an expert on tire fitment.

Stuck between these three options and could use some input

A) 19x9's with 265 R & 19x8 et40 with 235 F

B) 19x9's with 255 R & 19x8.5 et35 with 225 F

C) 19x9's with 265 R & 19x8.5 et35 with 225 F

Option A offers the widest tires but I'm concerned about the the tires being too wide for the wheel and decreasing performance and also the possibility of them just looking kind of bulbous.

Option B go to the 8.5 inch wheel in the front for a more aggressive fit and a tiny bit more concave. At the same time dropping down to a 225 and 255 tires to fit and make the proportions of the front match the rears.

Option C widest tire possible in the back and wider front wheel. Concerned that this setup might look awkward as the rears will be meaty but the fronts will have a little stretch. Also concerned with how this would effect the handling.

FYI Lowered with Dinan springs

Also Here is an additional picture that was sent to me of the wheels installed

Call Ron at Need4Speed. He can order them for you and tell you what will fit.

888-547-5474 or ron@n4sm.com

They are a forum sponsor and a BBS dealer. I bought my BBS wheels from them.

For the option B & C, maybe the front wheels will look more concave than the rear. If it is the case, the car will look weird. I think that the option A is the best.

The combo 19x8.5ET35 and 19x9.5ET40 is probably the best looking, but it requires some camber adjustements.

I have tried BBS CH in 19x9.5ET40, as the car is my daily I don't want to modify the camber or I don't want any rubbing.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but these are the same wheels that Dinan offers for the m235i and m240i and they're running 235/265. Saab Story is correct that they'd be recessed into the fender for clearance.

Dinan went with this setup it looks like so it could lower the car and have wide tires still for feasible tracking without rubbing.

I personally like the 437m replicas in the 8.5f 9.5r but it would be flush and I couldn't track it anymore. If all driving will be street without hard turning (like tracking might do) then a flushed look would be fine.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, just spent the past 2 or 3 days researching tire/wheel combos for my car and thought I'd share.

I also inquired about the CI-R wheels. Apparently for the moment the only way to get the satin black version is to order the Dinan wheels. Unfortunately they are quite heavy.

I've ordered those wheels in April, for three times they postponed the delivery. Next one is scheduled for beginning of Sept. I think BBS has serious production problems.

Any updates on the availability of this wheel? Tirerack has then, have you compared the prices from both distributors?

Really like the CI-R wheels, also like the 8j with et45 and 9j with et48; i think they will be great, unfornately they wont come in 18". Which wheels look closely to these in 18?
BBS RI-A, of perhaps from a different brand?

BBS RI-A are sexy AF but they are forged, they cost at least twice more than the CI-R. If money is not a problem, go for the RI-A

From my understanding the fronts require a spacer. To give you and idea, my 19x8.5et39 has probably 2-5mm of space before it'd hit the strut. I think the Dinans require a 5mm spacer from what others have said.
