Wheels from 128i on M235i

I found a deal on a set of BMW 128i winter wheels+tires, and the measurements seems to add up, but I wanted to see if someone here had personal experience with the set (or something close to it anyway). This is picture from the CL post: http://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_9...hu_600x450.jpg.

I believe they're style 256 wheels, so they're 7J17 ET47. FWIW, the official winter wheels are style 380, which is 7J17 ET40. I believe the offset may a bit too off, but I'm not really sure with this car.

Thanks in advance.

Updating my own thread in case someone comes across this.

The wheels won't fit, and generally most wheels from 1-series won't fit at all. Outside of the clearance issue for the brakes, the bolt sizes are different. One uses M12 and the other M14. They're very close in shape, but they're simply not the same. I'm not the kind of person that would take a chance on messing with the single part responsible for keeping the wheels attached to the car.

You could take a risk and try it, but if you're buying over the internet (where you can't try before you buy), I'd recommend passing for wheels approved by someone like tirerack.com, or shown in this list: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...92&hg=36&fg=15.

Hope this helps someone else.

Style 264 18" wheels fit my 228 perfectly. I use my original bolts. They should also fit M235's. Typically cost $400 used.

Ah sorry, I should've been clearer. My comment applies to bringing 17" wheels from a 1-series to M235i (or 228i with the M brakes). It's the time of year where lots of people will take their stock 18s and downgrade to 17s with winter tires, which is why I'm on this quest to begin with. I would fully expect 18" wheels from a 1-series to be fully compatible.
