Awe exhaust initial thoughts

Just got it installed today and just wanted to do a quick write up. I've been waiting to have another exhaust from them ever since I've had one on my mk4 vr6 got.

Before the install, I was watching some other people's videos of their awes and was a bit worried it might be too loud.

-Initial startup is pretty loud, but not as loud as a m4 with a m performance exhaust. (Sounds a bit less farty too)
- After warm up, idle is slightly louder than stock
-On light acceleration it does sound grumblier (the best I can describe it) until around 2.5k rpm.
-hard acceleration is noticeably louder than an M235I with//M performance exhaust and it sounds wonderful. (turbo spool is slightly louder even with a stock DP)
-the sound from the overruns/popping is drasticly louder and more frequent. Both in comfort and even more so in sport/sport+
- the drone is almost non existant but I'll have to update this later after a long cruise. (The sound was so intoxicating I wasn't really trying to go slow anywhere today)

Tl;dr
>it's not too loud to attract cops
>a lot more pops
>jury is still out on the amount of drone

I'll try to get more video soon and will update on the droning.

Really like mine too. that review sounds spot on. Does have a little drone at 3k rpm, but not enough to bother me.

After I got to drive it on the free way this weekend here are more thoughts.

-slight drone in first and second gear just below 3k rpm.
-very little drone in 6th gear and it's so small it might just be the ASD(which is great because that was my primary concern)

I'm not sure if it would be the same in the 8AT since I their gearing is different.

Did you do the midpipe as well or just the muffler?

It's the full exhaust and midpipe. It looks like previous owner welded a resonator though.

Would be cool to do a comparison of the straight pipe and the one with a resonator. if you guys do decide to meet up somewhere in LA, I can can share the straight pipe version. getting a DP installed next week so I guess it would only work if this week for me.
