Did they mention having issues getting delivery from the port? I understand that there have been issues with the rail/trucking companies. Mines been in "Canada" for about 3-4 weeks now and seems to be a "norm" lately.

They didn't mention it. The car is going into production this week. I was told about 4-5 weeks after that hoping there is no delays (those were the words from our Dealership). I'm looking @ mid April. I hope it's not later than that because my son wanted it yesterday. Here's hoping for no disruptions.

That's reasonable. I was 6.5% on the X5 and 5.75% on the M235. Mind you I had a trade-in towards the M235 that lowered that discount. Just keep in mind that each .25% on $50K is $125. At that point it becomes a question of what dealership do you want to deal with.

Another thing to is I realized as much as I got a good discount on the X5 they dinged me with a whole bunch of misc crap but on the M235 when they gave me the 5.75% I told them to take out the misc crap. So I guess what I'm saying is they'll try to get you one way or another.

Exactly....The discount basically pays for the "other crap" like delivery, mats, etc

My favourite is "Ride Green".. which they play dumb with and try to pass it off as a gov't program, when in reality it's $399 to put nitrogen in your tires, i had them scratch that off my invoice before we even started negotiating.

How are you tracking that? just calling BMW Canada, or is there a freight company that you're tracking with, i know you can track with WWL, but once it's off the boat, we're pretty much blind in Canada, no?

3-4 weeks in the country seems excessively long.

My lesson was learnt on the X5 when they charged me $399 for "Ride Green" Nitrogen fill. For the M235 I told them to go fly a kite.

Yes, I would like to how you guys are tracking your cars. What's WWL?

There's a sticky in the ordering thread, but here's the cliff-notes:
- Dealer will give you a production number for your car (usually you have to ask). it's a 7 digit number.
- Follow up with your dealer shortly after to get a VIN, alternatively, call BMW Canada and they're happy to give you that information if you give them a production number
- from there you can check when your car went into production at www.bmwvin.com - it'll include all the option codes and production date of the car (once it goes in to production). sometimes if it's a new VIN that hasn't been fully processed it might have the wrong info in the options, check back in a few days and it should be corrected.
- Once the build is complete, it'll get queued up for shipping. Most cars marked for Canada go through WWL http://www.2wglobal.com - Go to Track and Trace, then under cargo ID, enter your VIN, or just the last 8 digits of your VIN (i.e. for example GV726000). This is basically like any other package tracking, it'll only appear once the car has been booked for shipping.

Once it gets to Canada (Nova Scotia, I believe), I'm not sure how to track it (train or truck depending on location). If someone else could chime in here, that would be great.

As you can see, I've been quite board for the past month since ordering my car

As a side note... looks like my car just got loaded up!

Man that was fast... 6 days from date of production to being loaded for shipping..

I sort of feel like I have a custom order. A car almost exactly as I wanted was sitting in the Halifax port waiting for clearance destined for Bavaria BMW in Calgary and my dealer was able to scoop it for me.

Should be heading west any day and I only have to wait 2 to 3 weeks, not 2 to 3 months. It's almost exactly as I would have ordered it from the factory anyway.

Just from checking in with the sale manager. He says that have been issues more specifically to the 2-series (Typically ones with the performance exhaust having to be installed; however ones without are taking longer than other models as well)

That's my understanding too. My car went into production in 1st week of Feb and finally arrived at the Port of Halifax on March 9th by WWL in vessel named Electra. After that I have not been able to do anything to track it down

If anyone has been able to track beyond this point, would really appreciate you sharing it!

I hope your delivery goes better than mine. I ordered my 228i on Feb 12 2015.
My decoded VIN showed a Mar 18 build. My salesman called me in early May to say it had arrived in Halifax. I finally took delivery July 16 after my complaints were escalated by the dealer GM to BMW Canada HQ. Apparently my car was lost on a train somewhere in GTA rail yards. No special post production installations were involved.

i don't know how you people are patient enough to wait for a vehicle to be produced and shipped. As above, the one I'm buying was already on the ship and in port on the day we confirmed the deal and now it's off loaded and WWL has handed it over to BMW/CN.

I know it's going to be another 2 to 3 weeks, and I am having a hard time waiting. I am definitely an instant gratification kind of guy ... no way I could have handled ordering pre-manufacture!

you can call BMW Canada and ask them if they have a production week, or you can type in a VIN close to yours (i.e. your VIN minus 50 or so) and see how far away they are from production on yours - that's what i did and i was able to guess the production date to within a few days.

OK, I just checked today that car 38 was manufactured on March 24th. My son's car is 45. Not sure if they were manufacturing cars on March 25th Good Friday. Looks like they produce 4-5 cars a day.

So I checked today it has now given me a production date 03/29/2016. Does anyone know how long it takes to produce and get it loaded on the boat?
