"Rip" in new M240i all-season run-flat tire

Just received my new 2017 M240i with all-season run-flat tires and have put about 1200 miles on it so far.

I noticed that my left front tire has a "rip" in it. I haven't hit any potholes, or anything to cause this, and I've confirmed it's likely defective and will be replaced early next week.

See photos.

So far, no issues with loss of pressure by the tire sensors or the run-flat being activated.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this issue on their run-flats, and if I'll have an issue lightly driving on it for the next few days until I get the car in for service?

micwinterr are you asking if you can "lightly" drive on that tire?
Is that sidewall keeping its shape? Because the sidewall looks collapsed in the pics

а) that tire is not safe to use. if only to make it slowly to the nearest service.
b) that's 99% an impact damage as opposed to a defective tire.
