We are an authorized Dinan dealer here at Mckenna BMW however I won't be putting any tunes back on this car. I'm kind of paranoid now that something is going to go wrong plus I'm all out of funds at the moment as I opened up a Detailing/Vinyl wrapping shop last week.

Do you think a ECU tune like the GSR one on the other thread would've avoided overboosting the piston? or past a certain limit it probably won't matter?

I would say overworking the engine and pushing it to its limits no matter what tune the car is equipped with is going to lead to premature engine wear and in some case (like mine) damage the engine. So far from what we know is that the rods and pistons seem to be the weak points in the n20 engine.

So far I think you are the first person to blow your N20 up and figure out where the weak points are based off of that.

I'm not the first person to blow the N20. I know of 2 other locals besides me with blown engines. One of them had a hole through the side of the block due to a damaged connecting rod.

Ouch. Well, the more people that blow up these motors the more we will know about where to build them to be more reliable in the upper HP ranges.

That would be a good idea I would think. The new C63 is a beast. I'm sure you will enjoy it thoroughly.

Mechanic sent me pics last night and the engine has been put together and it's back in the car. He still has to turn the car on and make sure everything is good. Looks like I might be getting her back today
