Halogen light upgrade

Just wondering if anyone knows if these bulbs listed in this thread are compatible with the 2 series light fittings :

http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=777199

Also by changing out the bulbs would it class as a 'modification' for insurance purposes and would it effect any car warranty ?

If anyone could answer these questions id appreciate it !

Changing bulbs has zero effect on insurance or your warranty.

The bulbs I have used before were PIAA bulbs. Readily available and a nice upgrade from stock.

I installed two of the lights which were :

H7 Dip Beam... (Make sure you order H7 not H1)
http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-12...upgrade-bulbs/

H6W Sidelights
http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-h6...bs-sidelights/

After looking at the manual the Highbeam is also the DRL in the 2 series headlight which is a H15 bulb and differs from the 1 series.I bought some aftermarket H15 'White upgrade' halogen bulbs but they didnt change the color that much and H15 bulbs in cars are not used as widely as others so there are less decent aftermarket bulbs going.

Both of the ones linked above I was very happy with and dramatically changed the way the car looked at night as well as adding increased visibility.

Shown above is a comparison with the dipped beams and sidelights on left is old right is new.

The only issue I had was with installing as the bulbs are hard to get to with big hands and the dipped beam headlight has to be changed through the wheel arch which as you can imagine is very fiddly.

Apart from that doing the upgrade was well worth it , hope I helped !
