2014 F22 fuel tank removal question

Hey everyone,

My N20 f22 has finally got the notorious cracked fuel tank leak on the inaccessible side. I’ve read a lot on removing the fuel tank and it seems as everyone removes the driveshaft coupling nut in order to remove the fuel tank.

My question is could I just drop the drive shaft by removing and marking the flex disk/guibo and center support to have enough clearance to remove the fuel tank or will this cause damage to my driveshaft? It seems less complicated and easier this way if anybody has done this or has feedback as why this won’t work please let me know.
