Track tyres, are 255 on the standard rear rims ok on 235/240?
Trying to find track semi slick tyres for the 240i that can fit on the standard rims but cannot find the same size as standard.
Kumho v70a fronts are ok 225/40/18, but the rear is 255/35/18. Kumho did have a 245/40/18 but have stopped producing it. Same with toyo 888 225/40/18 and 255/40/18. Will having the 255 on the standard rim cause an issues, roll over, flex, not fit? Is it ok to run 255 on the standard rims? Any other tyres that fit well? |

Some more research. I might go Pirelli semi slicks on standard wheels, thoughts? And issues?
Pirelli fronts 225/40/18 which is the exact same size as the standard Michelin tyres in diameter and width. The rears in Pirelli are... 235/40/18. Diameter is 25.4 and width 9.5. The rears in standard Michelin are 24.8 and width 9.5. So 15mm higher diameter and 7.5mm less width. Can anyone see any issues running this on standard suspension? Problems?
