2019 240i Charge pipe addition

Today I went to Harold HP Autosportin SB and Harold put on the charge pipe.

https://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-charge...2-g01-g02.html

It is way noticeably larger pipe and it is a tight fight. With tune, dP and CAI the spool up improvement is very notable. Very pleased for such an inexpensive mod to add so much quickness.

The tone is slightly different under acceleration and it feels a little smoother with power on tap all the time.

Okay.

So... is this a review?

I dont think a charge pipe is adding any quickness. You're in a better situation running additional boost, but I doubt you're getting anything more than piece of mind.

You’ll definitely hear a difference but similar to the CAI, overall actual performance is likely minimally affected

The OP is also on Noelle Performance Programming along with DP, exhaust and intake.

Understood. But, "Very pleased for such an inexpensive mod to add so much quickness" is what drove my response. Obviously the DP, exhaust, and intake have potential to add quickness.

Have you not noticed the throttle response is way better after the installation of a charge pipe? There could be some power to be had with the larger charge pipe as well.

Nope, and I have never seen any data to back it up either.

Data might or might not improve HP numbers, but the car boosts so much quicker now the traction control is to slow to react. Wheelspin is encountered almost all the time when WOT. Throttle response is improved greatly. I had done this mod on other cars I owned w/ really good performance gains. Because this platform is so stout, I was not expecting much , but the gains are dramatic.

If you haven't tried it, you can only speculate. I do not endorse any product or manufacturer. The only real endorsement here is HP Autosport

The only downside, is the suspension now needs some help. The car under WOT is "floating" too much and not hooking up good.

Harold, see you next week for some https://mss.company/

This thread is about doing a bunch of upgrades, but crediting all the new performance gain to the single part that is likely to have made no difference other than give a cool crinkle finish? Just checking that I have that right

Im glad someone finally said it.

Posts like this really need to be deleted. How hard is it to see that this was an obvious a "If you post a review we'll know x% off the work" thread?

I mean the dude has to raise money after buying an $1700 Noelle tune that adds, like, 60 whp (as per Ron T himself). So he is shilling hard for HP Autosport and "charge pipe quickness".

I seriously can't stop laughing at this thread!

Why else post a review for a downpipe install?

The majority of members (including myself) can accomplish this task on their own, with minimal tools and just time.
