Tinting Windows

Thinking of tinting my 228 this spring. I know in the past when tinting , windows must remain closed for a few days , is this a problem with the coupe windows always opening a closing slightly with every door opening ?

No issues here either.

You can always code that function out but I don't see the point.

Had no issue with my m235i coupe. The local place i had it installed at even mentioned it may move down a bit as it sets but not alot and if it was noticeable then to come back.

As long as you give it the recommended time before rolling the window down you should be all good.

You can always enter/exit through the sunroof.

I think it depends on how it is installed ( if they remove the window or not ). The windows can even be removed without taking the door panel off.

Removing the window allows for the film to cover the entire glass.

I can't see how that is possible.

Really? Please educate me how other than smashing it to pieces, thereby removed!

Who removes a car window to tint it? Lol... Same goes for windshield and rear window?

Never heard if doing this, especially as it is completely and utterly unnecessary! Quite insane actually... Who would dismantle a door, remove the glass for tinting? Just lol

The point of removing the window is to be able to cover it all so the vinyl doesn't gets hang / caught in the door when lowering the window. It can happen, it did to me.

Removing the glass is only done to door windows, usually on the ones you keep lowering the window often, no point in doing it to windshields, you can reach the whole glass already.

You can see the window getting removed without removing the door panel here ( skip to 4:50 if the video starts from beginning ):

Depends on your local laws. In FL the darkest we can go is 28% on the front windows and 15% on the rear.

Do you get any light refracting from headlights at night akin to this https://www.civicx.com/forum/attachm...mage-jpg.2324/?

I recently had my car tinted with 35% and the refracting from headlights at night is not ideal. It is seemingly due to the slope of the window and the rear defrost lines.

Anyone ever deal with this?
