Me again.

So... I know there are 5 million threads on best interior color, best exterior color, and best color combination, and I've read through a lot of them. I've looked at a lot of pics, a lot of videos. I also know that it's subjective, and I know that all that matters is what I like versus random internet strangers (no offense!).

But I find reading the discussions very helpful; it helps me to understand my own mindset and think about pros/cons that wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise. (For example, I had a light bulb moment when I read a comment from one of you brilliant people observing that a black exterior makes a car look small; I suddenly realized one of the reasons I don't love black on the 2 series, when I ordinarily adore black cars.)

Although I am still considering waiting to buy (see my other thread on this topic), I have identified 2 candidates that have my required options and a more interesting interior color than black. (For the record, I don't mind black interiors and have always had black, but I think a lighter interior is a good idea on this smaller car, especially for the sake of anyone riding in the rear.)

The two options are:
1) Mineral White with Coral Red
2) Alpine White with Cognac

Please vote and/or comment!

Coral Red is a daily dose of eye candy. Some say they fear tiring of it, but are happy with a more boring color. I've never understood that. Others say it's "too much", but I suspect these are the same folks who think a chocolate fudge cake can be "too dense"...no such thing. The only reason I don't have Coral is that the exterior Valencia Orange was more important to me. But, if I had chosen white, silver, grey, etc., there is no question that I would have chosen Coral to have more visual stimulation. Good luck with your choice!

Nope, Mineral White! It is a metallic white rather than a flat white (Alpine). I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a couple pics of the 2 cars in question.

Wyldstyle, honestly, go with the CORAL RED!!! it is absolutely a "daily dose of eye candy" to quote Sportstick

Might as well buy mom jeans as well, if you go with the AW/Cognac combo.

This legit made me LOL.

1) I am a mom, although I do not wear "mom jeans".

2) My mother has a white Honda Accord with beige interior. When shown pictures, my daughter commented, "You would have the same colors as Nana!"... which legit has been a strike against, as much as I adore my mom (and think cognac looks more interesting than her beige!)...

Go with any interior color that's not black! I have coral red in my F23 and saddle brown (little different) in my F31. Both so much nicer than Gf's black interior F30.

Oyster is a nonstarter for me - hard to keep clean and not puppy friendly.

Oh the mom jeans comment was from my lovely wife. I showed her your pictures; she has excellent taste

What does your husband say?

My Oyster interior never sees dogs, blue jeans, food/drink...but almost 6 years later, still looks new with my maintenance products. I guess it's a matter of how you use your vehicle. I chose it because I always want a light color interior and it was best to my eyes with Valencia. I rejected an otherwise perfect 340i 6MT MPerformance-everything to become our "family car" that my son was turning in after a lease primarily because it had a black interior. Ugh.

Though not an option in the poll, I'd vote Alpine White and Coral Red. I have Alpine White and Black and really would prefer the Coral Red, but my car was purchased off the lot and I didn't have the option.

Yeah my interiors are spotless and I detail them weekly but...

I wear jeans almost every day and especially in the convertible top down things start to get dingy especially in the back. Our E46 Vert is light silver interior and keeping it clean is a BITCH even with my OCD.

Not even a question, mineral white and my first time seeing coral red, GO FOR IT! And I would not get tired of that color.

Someday I will tell you about OCD, maybe I already have when I posted that I dust my front windows before opening my car door (it's a coupe and i don't want any crap falling down into my door). Darker colors are easier to maintain and if you get a little lazy detailing, no one but you will know.

MW and CR. It's stunning. MW really pops the body lines better than any other available color. It creates shadows and takes on different colors depending on how light hits it. It is sporty, aggressive, and elegant. BMW has another MW that is more yellow and pearlescent. MW on the 2 series is very white and less pearlescent.

CR is not over the top at all. People love it. It looks totally killer with the dry carbon fiber interior trim.

People who think Coral Red is "over the top" need laxatives.
