Should be interesting since I have the added weight of the AWD as well. Im also pairing these with Dinan bump stops. Stay tuned.

Here is my wheel setup, wish me luck!

FRONT TIRE: MPSS 8.5 +39 235/40/18 22.2lbs
REAR TIRE: MPSS 9.5 +45 265/35/18 25.8lbs
MSS kit has their own bump stops...I don't know if I'd deviate from that. They put a lot of time and R&D into their kit.

It kind of stumps me why they'd put the height adjuster where access to it is restricted by other control arms other than to save cost by not having another spring coupler. I'm really surprised they didn't put the adjuster at the top like every other coilover/HAS kit for the F8x version.

Just got off the phone with MSS. The kit photos posted above by Goodmoodley is the newest version, like within the last 6mon newer.. These kits have a slight change over the original kits that initially were released maybe only like only 6mo ago so early or mid 2019....

There is no difference in performance between either kit. The only difference is the new kit the front adjusters are located at the bottom of the front springs whereas the original kits (my kit) the front adjusters are installed on the top. . Not sure why they made this change but they stated performance is same for both kits. The rear setup is same for both kits.
The other change is that the new kit requires the included bump stops as you can see in Goodmoodley's photos. The original kit does not come with bumpstops because the OEM can be used with no issue.

So if you don't have the bumpstops and your kit has the MEYLE dust cover/boot/strut X2 in the box then this is the original kit. I bought mine from a forum member and this is how I obtained the original kit vice what Goodmoodley has posted.

Getting my springs installed tomorrow, so hopefully no rubbing with my tire setup..

I posted above clarifying the kits and the bumpstops.. Since my kit is intended to be used with OEM bumpstops im going to swap them with the Dinan and see how that works. MSS said it shouldn't be a problem but cant be sure since they are designed with OEM bumpstops.. Either way Ill see what works.

This is an improvement IMO. Having the adjuster at the top where it's nestled in the shock tower means less clearance for the wrench to adjust the spring seat. There's a lot more working space at the bottom.

They should've improved the rear adjuster location too.

Finished install finally

Found some extra time and got the install done. So glad to get rid of the soft wallowing stock springs. Feels a little closer to my 1er now. A fair bit stiffer than stock.

Here are some install pics and a before and after pic.

What size rims and tires are you running? Are the MSS springs larger than stock springs or take up more space?

The springs are a little narrower I'm pretty sure so you have more room but I ran these wheels with the stock springs and had no issues. I am running 18x8.5 et45 and 18x9.5 et62. No spacer in front. Running 5mm spacer on rear so effectively have an et57 offset.

Tires are 235/40/18 and 275/35/18. Planning on running 245/40/18 in front next. Tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s.

No rubbing at all so far.

That's crazy that you fit a 275 in the rear. I've been in contact with Apex about running a 255 square setup in 18x8.5 ET35 with Michelin PS4S. For that setup I need front camber plates with -2.2 camber and -1 camber for the rear. I also told them I would be running the MSS kit but they werent sure if there would be enough clearance as HAS kits usually are larger than stock springs, so that's why I asked.

However, now that I know you can fit a 275 in the rear I'm wondering if a 255F 275R would be a nicer setup. My car is my daily driver and I usually do dig and highway races with the occasional back road/mountain drive. Trying to get as much grip as possible since I will be upgrading my turbo and trying to push 600whp+

The Indy 500s run narrower than some others so be careful. Don't try to stuff an RE-71R 275 back there. I'm not even sure I can fit a 245 in front but I'm gonna measure and see.

How do you like the Indy 500s? I've been hearing a lot of good things about them and they have all the sizes I'm looking for in 17s. Seems like you figured out the method for fitting a 275 in the rear with the Indy 500s and the MSS springs. I know a couple of owners who have fit a 245f with no or little modifications. A 255 is a different story but I believe it can be done since Apex said if the MSS springs are the same size as stock then it should work with camber plates. Since you also mentioned that the Indy 500s run narrower and I've been planning for PS4S which I believe are wider then perhaps you could get away with bushings to get the negative camber upfront?

Not necessarily. As is true for other sizes as well, there are 275s, and there are 275s.

This shows the difference between the Michelin PSS in 245/35-18 and the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 in 275/35-18:

Everything is bigger with the Firestone; tread width, however, not really very much.

It's best to review the detailed specs for a tire before giving it serious consideration.

The Firestones are my go to for a street tire based on looks, decent performance and most importantly price and as dradernh confirmed they do run narrow so you can upsize. Not so good on track. I run 255/40/17 square for the track on my 1er. They have very similar wheel fitment as the 2. I do have camber plates in the front and installed 3 series hubs in the rear to gain 10mm in offset. My track tires are Hankook RS4s which are a meatier tire. I haven't researched bushings in the front to get negative camber. Can you elaborate?

I find that they are quite stiff. I don't mind as I tend to prefer that but some may find it a bit too much.

Do you think they would be better matched for the slightly heavier f22 trims Like an M240i xdrive? Also would you daily drive them? Thanks

In reply to last two posts. It would likely be a bit more compliant with a heavier front end.

The front adjuster is bottomed out. The rears were about an inch up IIRC.

Would this work with a 230i xDrive? Having a hard time finding awd suspension solutions.

Looks great. Did you replace any bolts or other hardware during the install? BMW includes hardware on their mperf HAS on some of their other models.

My MSS spring arrived today from XLR8. They came in a plain brown box with packing peanuts, unlike everyone else's nice packaging. A hat and some marketing materials were included, no sort of instructions though.

EDIT: Here are some photos. Can anyone please advise what version of the springs I received?
