Ouch!... There's a thread with the method, easy peasy... 91% alcohol works very well. Take the visor off, it takes a few minutes per side. Took me 20 mins for both sides(approx). Heat gun is too rough, I think it would easily melt the visor.

Replaced stock axle-back exhaust w/ Dinan Free flow. Amazon had them on sale for less than half of the going price, and prime. Sounds great.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X6HHOYY/

(It's back to normal price now, but keep an eye on this if you're interested. I was able to pick one up at $650)

installed winters...

And I'm having second thoughts. Feels rough on dry pavement. Slight vibration when cornering, almost feels like wheels are out of balance, but they we just installed at the dealership, so I assume they're balanced. Ugh, this will take some getting used to.

Oh awesome! I'm not 100% that amazon isn't having an issue with this item in terms of pricing. It jumped up and down around $400-$600 in the last two weeks. It arrived in a massive dinan box with clamps, zip ties, and printed instructions. To be honest, I had my fingers crossed the whole time from order to receipt, thinking I'd get the dreaded "order cancelled due to price discrepancy" email from amazon.

Sounds like some sort of weird tiered pricing or something. Glad to know you received yours mine will be here around thanksgiving. Also not sure if you’ve found this but apparently the Dinan muffler hangs pretty low. Looks like the fix is to replace the rubber mounts with these shorter ones so it sits up higher to the diffuser https://www.ebay.it/itm/0-4-10mm-x-2-Hole-EXHAUST-CAR-MUFFLER-HANGER-UPRATED-YELLOW-POLYURETHANE-/331948391772?hash=item4d49aa7d5c

Guys - on the Dinan exhaust (or MPE for that matter) - make sure you get the right one, I think 47 is for the car without M Perf diffuser and 48 is with the diffuser.

Ah yes, thank you. The one I linked is for the M235i w/out the M Performance diffuser.

Think that's what most folks would want, just didn't want anyone getting the wrong thing by accident and only realizing it after cutting their stock exhaust off and test fitting DINAN.

MPE there are some mods that can be done but DINAN w/ tips attached less ability to mess with it.

Wow I didn't know this was a thing... I ordered mine in person at DINAN and didn't really have any issues with the install other than the hanging a little low bit. The tips stick out far enough for my taste and the mentioned stiffer mounts fixed the height problem easy.

We re-used the same mounts. While I held them in place my friend tightened down the bolts on the clamps and it ended up being perfect. They sit exactly at the same height as stock. There was one slight difference between the picture and the assembly I received, and that is the mounting pins are actually angled 90° down on the muffler. In the amazon listing they show to be straight. Not sure if maybe they corrected an issue with a previous version. We removed the mounts entirely, slid them on the muffler side, and then re-installed them in the brackets. I took it easy on the throttle this morning leaving the neighborhood. Love the sound of this thing. I swear I just had to believe there were burbles and pops with the stock system, because I never heard them. I hear em' now!

Are you using a midpipe as well? I absolutely loved the sound of the free flow exhaust when I installed mine. Eventually I grew to wanting to hear it even better with the windows up. The sound proofing in the F22 is just so much better than any car I have owned you can hardly hear the exhaust with the windows up and it's getting too cold to drive with them down. The addition of the midpipe definitely fixed that problem. It's notably loud, but not to the obnoxious level. The turbos spool up a bit faster now too, but there wasn't much gain in power. There is minimal drone of only a soft hum at speeds above 60.

I didn't install any mid-pipe on this round. Having found the dinan for such a low price I just went ahead and got this done. Mid-pipe and sport cat (I live in a testing state/county) for future installation. Now it has a rumble that I can physically feel in the back of the seat as I drive. I didn't know how much I'd love that until I felt it on Tuesday. I was 100% content with the car prior, but now it's a new level of love.

Snarky title: I hid my CD player slot.

What I really did:

This might be one of the duller "what did you do to your 2 series today" posts, but after 4 years of horrible phone mounts, I'm really pleased with this solution. It's a longer than normal "bar" magnetic mount. It's really wide: 7", 1.1" tall. And it turns out that 1.1" is *exactly* the size to fit over the CD slot without hitting any buttons or display above or below. With the phone unmounted, other than the CD slot it doesn't obscure anything. With the phone mounted, it obscures the radio stations buttons (which I no longer use anyway - I've become a spotify/podcast person exclusively).

The phone is *really* strongly attached - it doesn't budge at all, even going around corners at a ridiculous rate (which would sometimes cause my phone attached using a vent mount to flop around, and even occasionally go flyting).

Here's a movie showing my putting it on & pulling it off:

I found some 17" Sparco wheels with Conti snow tires that fit over the M-sport calipers. I think they look pretty sharp on the black car. With xdrive, I wasn't really worried about the snow but more concerned with a snow covered pothole taking out a 3rd wheel in less than a year.

Wrapped the silver trim in all 3M DI-noc carbon fiber. Very happy with how it came out. Material is great quality and beats spending $800 or more on actual carbon fiber pieces.

Installed my newly arrived Beyern Antler Silver w/ Mirror Cut Face wheels.

And can't also wait to use my newly bought Greenworks GPW1703 Pressure Washer I found a good review at https://gardeningfacts.org/best-pres...washer-review/ to wash my car.
