No error codes are associated with this intake; it's a high-quality product that fits perfectly.

it significantly enhances the look and sound of your vehicle and also improves the airflow to your turbo.

I recommend MST air intake, it sounds great and changed the car being the first thing I did to it. No error codes from it either. Similar closed box style as Dinan just may be cheaper (Not sure usually dinan is more)

Dinan is pretty quiet, I hardly heard any difference at all when I had it.

I switched over to MST like above poster, and have nothing but positives to say about it.

You can definitely hear the whoosh.

When comparing Dinan, please post which Dinan intake you are giving feedback on. Im assuming you got the closed box Dinan intake.

Note, Dinan has 2 versions now, the closed one (original) and the semi-open version. the Semi-open intake is louder and still keeps most of the carbon look

here is a picture

The Dinan closed system isn't about noise; instead, it's about this:

I ran with the MST intake last year for about 1000 miles. The sound was incredible but I switched back to the stock closed air box. Nothing wrong with the MST just wanted to stick with a closed system as I prioritized getting lower intake air temps vs having more sound. I plan to pick up the Dinan closed intake system in a few weeks to jazz up the engine bay a little bit and see about a little boost in performance.

If its not about the noise, can't you get a similar performance gain from just a drop in filter and keep the stock intake system? (which on most f series cars generally don't need to be replaced other than for Sound or looks).
Just cause Dinan states 15whp gain doesn't mean loading it up on a tune will get you that true 15 whp, why doesn't stage 1 OTS maps ask for upgraded intake like stage 2 asks for a downpipe or 2+ w fuel pump? Because its not needed other than sound, but I am a fan of dinan products I have a dinan certified F80 but their products are slightly overpriced but to each their own.

If you are only after the gains, a high-flow filter will net you these gains.

The intake is superior because it gets you the power increase, sound, and look.

Intake for M240i 2017

Hey so I've looked around on this forum and everyone recommends the ap intake for those looking for an aggressive sound. But I can't seem to find it anywhere and it seems its no longer available either. Anyone got a good alternative?

MST intake is quite good, and what I have currently installed on my car. I haven’t heard the AP intake, but I assume it’s similar to the MST intake. If you want something louder than the MST intake, swap the filter out for a Boost Logic stainless steel filter which is what I did.

Love my Dinan intake, got their lower turbo inlet too. Also AA Dp (catted) and dinan midpipe.
I think it's all great, this combined with the flexibility of the vehicle with mhd and xhp installed... car has multiple personalities.
I'm mid level leadership at my factory, so the car needed to remain refined enough (with intentional driving habits) that I can take upper leadership to lunch and still have those crucial conversations without the car being a distraction.
Of course then when the fellow hoons and I go to lunch, just a few buttons away from all the fun.

I have a 340i with the closed deck dinan intake. I normally hear the whoosh whenever in sport+. I just purchased the dinan turbo inlet from Mike. Looking forward to hearing it with the intake

Finally, was able to get the Dinan inlet pipe installed over the weekend. I now hear the Whoosh in sport and sport+ now. Before it was only in sport+. Coupled with the other mods I have on the car; I like the sound this has added.

I use the Dinan closed intake, Dinan turbo inlet, and FTP Motorsports air inlets. You can pretty easily hear the induction/turbo noise with this setup. Not too loud, not too quiet, it's just right IMO.
