Spark plugs are in the building so that will be my project for today! Dinan boost controller has been ordered. I also need to replace brake pads, any good recommendations for something with good performance and importantly less damn dust? ECS advertises Hawk pads that are just a bit more expensive than OEM but they advertise that they're very low dust and that is extremely compelling.

My winter set of BBS SR 17X7½ ET35 in Bright Silver with 225/45-17 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 will be listed later this week.

As an aside, the A/S 3+ are being closed out and are now $588 delivered from Tire Rack. I paid $210 more for mine last year.

My summer tires are on the Orbit Grey 436s that came with the car. They're a better look for the Estoril Blue, I think, but the Ferric Greys don't look at all unattractive.

I got the Ferric Greys one year ago from stlb5; this is their first time on the car. I had the wheels ceramic-coated at a local detailing shop and am hoping that makes cleaning easier than it would otherwise be. <fingers-crossed>

What part of OH are you in? I may have some interest.

Front are super close to the strut, may end up getting a 3 or 5MM spacer all around. Right rear slightly rubbed the inner liner but I was able to bend it out of the way. Overall I'm really happy with this setup.
Have you ended up adding spacers? If so how is the fit now and which sizes did you go with. Also looking at Apex with these offsets. They look great on your car!

Thanks! These specs work great for stock height, i ended up going with 5mm spacers in the front, fit is perfect. Wheels have held up great on northeast roads over the last two years. Strongly recommend!

What brake setup do you have? Here's a pretty good resource for pad recommendations if you have M Sport brakes: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1355833

Traditionally ceramic pads will net less dust, but the converse is less performance too.

Thanks for the link. I'm unsure. I have an M-Sport car but, not the Track Handling Package or whatever (so my M-Sport has the gray calipers).

I was thinking of just buying the Hawk 5s from ECS since they're readily available and seem to be well liked but I'm always open to other options.

With grey calipers, you do not have MSport brakes. You have the standard brakes. Also consider Akebono Euro. Excellent pads. I’ve used them for years as replacements and they do exactly what you are seeking.

I added these to my M234i last year. It's a great little mod to do.

Pretty quick and easy as well.

I would stick with the OEM brake pads. They produced practically 0 dust for me. I recently added the M performance brakes to mine and the pads that come with those dust more than any BMW brakes I have ever had (4 BMWs in the last 15 years). I want to use them for a while before replacing them but I'm not sure if I can stand it.

My stock pads are atrocious in terms of brake dust. I have never seen anything quite like it.

Interesting that the standard grey caliper brakes generate so much dust. The MSport brakes do not. But, as noted before, Akebono Euro will solve that.

Have the blue M brakes, stock OEM are horrible for dust. Maybe its my driving....few miles and can see the gray. If I don't go far but car is really clean, use damp soft cloth and wipe them all, cloth gray even after 20 miles.

I cannot explain this difference with my same blue MSport brakes based on the brakes themselves, unless there was a spec change in the OEM build. Perhaps you are on the brakes more often in some manner? I am surprised that the brake dust in my car is as light as it has turned out to be...I was expecting worse.

Stock pads on my 16 produced an extreme amount of dust. Swapped them out for akebono and there's zero dust now. Lost that great initial bite though, but that's an acceptable tradeoff for dust not getting all over the wheels and paint constantly

Dropped it off at a local performance shop for a tech inspection for a track day on Sunday. I'm going to have to drive the wife's car to work tomorrow and I'm really sad I won't have my car to drive to work

First world problems!

I really coast to every stop to maximize MPG and still, my blue brakes are horrendously dusty. I can't see my wheel paint after about 3 weeks of driving. Just dust.
