Dinan S2, 26k-ish. Replaced under warranty but decided to upgrade while there. Not a huge deal at the end of the day, relatively easy fix.

The group-buy for Apex Forged wheels is about to end, and I'm pledged for 17x9et42 Arc8-R's (hopefully the numbers work out for either anthracite or polished finishes). To go along with it, I added a 5mm spacer for the front, 75mm studs, BMW centercaps, and a TPMS sensor. Should be delivered sometime in December, iirc.
I've got Vorshlag camber plates that can support up to 2.5 deg of camber in front, so I'm hoping to mount some seriously meaty tires - 255/40/17 Yokohama A052's - for AutoX in the spring. They've got a listed section width of 10.2" and tread width of 9.4" so it should be quite an ambitious fit. Might have to go down to 245/40/17's though. They're a better fit for overall height and should be easier to stuff into the fenders.

Uhaul installed a Curt receiver on my M240iX. No cutting required. Took about 1.5 hours. Cost for parts and labor was $235 including state tax. I use a Rocky Mounts Monorail Solo that has both 2" and 1.25"; live in an area where I can ride from the door and cover 100 miles on the dirt, but having a rack is handy for weekend getaways when I don't want to drive her Highlander through the twisties. Oh, the 2nd pic is after using some good Meguiar products. Surprised it made a big diff in terms of swirl and shine compared to my cheapy wash products.

Washed it for the second time in 4 days....therapeutic.
Question - do you guys use tire foam - I do, and love the look, but after about 3 days of driving, most of it ends up on the bottom third of my doors. Also, token shot w my son's Mini. |

Three things just got done:
It was confirmed that the swaybar installation had no effect upon the alignment:

Get a quote to have it done on your own, then decide. If it were me, I'd order a replacement bumper and drop it off at a shop and have them spray it. Then I'd get a protective film applied as aftermarket paint will not hold up like the factory paint. Road rash will be a problem with aftermarket paint as it's just not as durable

Is it just the lip or bumper as well? If just the lip - it costs less than 500 (painted). If all of it, then insurance will probably the best bet.

Dropped the car off at the dealership today for the following items:
- Swapped the 225/40/18 Michelin X-ice xi3's onto the stock rims ($135) - New cabin air filter ($0) - Annual oil change with 10,309 miles since the last change ($0) - Sampled oil for Blackstone testing ($0 Dealer / $28 Blackstone) The results of the oil testing will inform whether I stay with the suggested service interval (Annual or 10k miles) or if the added stress from AutoX means I'll be moving to 2x oil changes per year. I measured my staggered Supersports when I was home. The fronts are at 4/32" and the rears are at 5/32". I anticipate replacing them at 2/32", so I might get another half or even full summer daily drive season out of them. Not bad considering I abused them with 8 autoX weekends this year. They did ok, but I'm really looking forward to being on a dedicated set of Yoko A052s next season.

The past month has been nuts. Been wanting to do a PPF and ceramic coat. My front bumper was in rough shape as the car has 25k miles on it.
I went over budget but still very happy with the results. Completely replaced my front bumper to ensure it's free of all rock chips, scratches, and defects. Had paint correcting a done to the whole car. Full frontal Xpel PFF installed. Then had Ceramic Pro applied to the entire car. Here are a few photos take with an iPhone 8 although they don't do it justice. |
